This policy explains what information Sweldo Wise collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We’ve written it in plain language because we believe you should be able to understand it without a lawyer.

Sweldo Wise is a personal finance app for tracking salary, expenses, savings, and debts. The app is built and operated by:

For the purposes of data protection law, this person is the “data controller” — meaning they are responsible for how your information is handled.
Sweldo Wise is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has used the app, please contact us at support@sweldowiseph.com and we will delete their information.

You enter all financial information manually. Sweldo Wise does not connect to your bank accounts, GCash, credit cards, or any payment service. We never see your bank balance, account numbers, or transactions unless you type them in yourself.
To save you typing, Sweldo Wise has an optional receipt scanning feature. When — and only when — you tap the scan button to add an expense, the app asks for permission to access your camera (to take a photo of the receipt) or your photo library (to pick an existing photo). We use this access only for receipt scanning. We do not browse, read, or upload any other images on your device.
The image you capture or select is processed entirely on your device using Google ML Kit’s on-device text recognition. The image itself is not uploaded to our servers and is not stored permanently by the app — it is held in temporary memory only long enough to extract the merchant name, amount, and date, then discarded.
Only the extracted text — the values you review and confirm before saving — is transmitted to our servers as part of the resulting expense entry. The original photo never leaves your device.
You can deny camera or photo permission when prompted, or revoke it later in your device settings. The app continues to work normally for manual entry without these permissions.

The free version of Sweldo Wise shows ads through Google AdMob. We use non-personalized ads only, which means ads are not targeted based on your behavior or interests.

This information is collected directly by Google, not by us. Google’s handling of this data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
The paid version of Sweldo Wise does not show ads and does not share data with AdMob.

Your account information and the data you enter are stored on Supabase, a cloud database service. Our Supabase project is hosted in Northeast Asia (Seoul, South Korea — ap-northeast-2).
If you live outside that region — for example, if you are an OFW in Europe, the Middle East, or North America — your data will travel from your device to that server. We rely on Supabase’s standard security measures (encryption in transit and at rest) to keep your data safe during this transfer.
For users in the European Union and United Kingdom: South Korea has been recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection (Adequacy Decision of December 2021), so your data can be transferred there under standard GDPR rules. Supabase publishes its compliance documentation at supabase.com/privacy.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active.
If you delete your account (see below), your account enters a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel the deletion by signing back in. After 30 days, your personal information is permanently removed from our active database. Some information may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before those backups are rotated and overwritten.
We may keep some non-personal information in anonymized form (such as aggregate counts of users) for analytical purposes, but this cannot be linked back to you.

After the 30-day grace period ends, deletion is permanent and we cannot recover your data.
We protect your information using:
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever discover a security incident that affects your information, we will notify you by email within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, as required by Philippine and EU law.
Sweldo Wise is a mobile app and does not use cookies in the traditional web-browser sense. The app does store small files on your device for things like keeping you logged in and remembering your preferences. These are not used for tracking.
Sweldo Wise is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact support@sweldowiseph.com and we will delete the information promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will:
Continuing to use Sweldo Wise after a policy change means you accept the updated policy.
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, you have the right to file a complaint with a data protection authority.
